About the Board

What is the Knox County Board of REALTORS®?

Chartered since 1946, the Knox County Board of Realtors® (KCBR) is comprised with approximately 165 professional members including Brokers, Realtors and Affiliate members. KCBR is a non-profit trade organization for Realtors® and real estate affiliated members. KCBR is a professional organization for real estate professionals who sell real property and for businesses that work in or with the real estate industry.  KCBR owns and operates the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) of Knox County which is an extensive database of homes for sale in Knox and surrounding counties.

KCBR is maintained by an Association Executive (AE) and a seven-member Board of Directors (BOD’s). Voted by the General Membership, the BOD’s meet once a month to discuss headline real estate matters that may or may not affect the home owner, potential home owner or its members. The AE serves as the liaison between its Board of Directors, Members, the Ohio Realtors® (OR) and the National Association of Realtors® (NAR).

Above all else, the Association Executive will ensure that all Core Standards set forth by the National Association of REALTORS will be met by any means necessary to ensure that KCBR remains a recognized Association by the National Association of REALTORS® on its own merit.

REALTOR® members work within the Code of Ethics, prescribed by the National Association of Realtors®. KCBR and its Members continually strive to exceed all expectations while serving the public at the highest level of professionalism knowing that wise buyers and sellers don’t want to be sold, they want to be informed.

Primary Realtor Membership Benefits:

By joining KCBR, you’ll be gaining access to one of the largest trade organizations in the U.S.- the National Association of REALTORS® as well as local representation with the Ohio REALTORS®. This also affords an agent to call themselves a Realtor upon joining the KCBR.

KCBR provides a variety of FREE services to its Primary Realtor members including but not limited to: the GE Supra application (annual savings of approximately $360.00), leased lockboxes to Primary Brokers (savings of approximately $100 per lockbox), extended insurance while using our leased lockboxes, free education, free access to the local online library of real estate forms in Zipforms; free use of Digital Ink, and free local legislative representation. Also at no charge to Primary Realtors: the offer to attend our annual golf outing and Christmas event. Membership also allows participation with all of our consumer advocacy/community-based events, throughout the year.

Joining KCBR either as a Broker, Realtor or Affiliate provides you with access and connects you with the network of real estate professionals in our area-Knox County, Ohio.  This means you’ll be able to connect with REALTORS® and affiliated businesses and professionals working in the same area, city, or county as you.

Why use your local MLS? While some think it would be easier to have one single MLS that is not necessarily the best scenario. Using your local MLS assures you will have the most up to date listings which is in the best interest and fiduciary duty to your clients. Being an MLS participant also affords you local support, and most often- immediately. Need to add a field, city or have an error fixed? No problem. Contact us and it’s done-again, for FREE. We also do not charge for secretaries or 3rd party vendors such as: RETS or IDX feeds.
